HIGH SCHOOL GYMNASTICS PROGRAM

OFF-SEASON PRACTICE

Bismarck Gymnastics Academy is pleased to offer off-season practice for all new and current high school gymnasts! This program is open to gymnasts who are entering their 7th grade year in school. It is part of our team tuition structure which is charged by the hour. Registration for each session is offered in the off-season for the number of days the athlete intends to practice per week. The head coach strongly recommends that every athlete practice three days per week at a minimum through the summer. Alternate arrangements should be consulted with her.

High School Prep

High School Prep is designed for those who are 4th grade or older. The girls will focus on skills that are needed to the HS team. This class can be in conjunction with any other class.

An annual membership is required to participate in our classes. See more information on that fee here.

Frequently asked questions:

  1. When can I join the HS team?                                                                                                                                                                                                      You can join the HS team as a 7th grader based on your ability level. We have a HS prep class for those who are 4th grade on up to practice skills to prepare for HS gymnastics.

  2. Can I compete for the HS team if I go to a private school or homeschool?                                                                                                                            Yes, you would compete for the team that is based on where you live and your address lines up with the public-school boundaries.

  3. Is there just one HS team in Bismarck?                                                                                                                                                                                        No, we have 3 HS teams, one for each public HS (BHS, CHS, LHS). We all practice together in and out of season and go to meets together during season. At the meets you are in a team rotation group with your HS team.

  4. Can I do HS and USAG?                                                                                                                                                                                                                Yes! This is what is done with the powerhouses in the western part of ND. Because of the size of the state, this is what many successful programs do, this is how BGA and BPS ran their programs for many years. You would practice with the HS team in and out of season after the state HS meet you would then compete with the USAG team.

  5. Can I go onto college gymnastics coming out of HS gymnastics?                                                                                                                                            Yes, based on your ability level, there have been many successful gymnasts who competed HS gymnastics and went on to compete at college gymnastics. Many HS gymnastics also went on to obtain scholarships in other sports.

  6. Can I do other sports?                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Yes! You can compete in fall and spring HS sports at your HS. We have many gymnasts who are multi-sport athletes. They practice with the HS team when they are not in season or when their sports schedule allows.
